Cynthia Ann Crawford, born February 20, 1966, is an American model, actress and television personality. She was a supermodel as well as a popular figure on magazines' covers as well as runways and fashion campaigns in the 1980s and 1990s. Her career later expanded to the business world and acting. Her sophomore year of high school, she received an inquiry from an apparel shop in the area about modeling jobs. She later learned that the call was made as a prank by two of her classmates. Crawford was contacted by a different store the following year to model for them. The store also hosted an event for fashion. Roger Legel, a local photographer, approached Crawford to shoot her. He was the one responsible for photographing another college girl in DeKalb Nite Weekly. Crawford was selected as the first cover. The model was enticed to pursue modeling by the positive feedback and photo she received. Initially, she worked with an agency with a small size. It was sold to Elite Model Management shortly after she signed. She entered Elite's Look of the Year contest in 1983 at age 17 and reached the finals at the national level.
